This role is for a Warehouse Supervisor for our warehouse operation at our Merrington Lane, Spennymoor, facility.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will assist the Warehouse Manager in the daily running of a fast-paced warehouse environment ensuring client and business requirements are met, the role is based at our warehouse facility at Merrington Lane – Spennymoor.
The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory experience in a warehousing role and who is able to work with an established team whilst improving performance and driving forward the KPI’s for the contract and business.
Main Duties Include:
- Drive performance and KPI’s assigned by the warehouse manager.
- Manage your time to ensure maximum output and performance working to agreed start, end and break times.
- Managing staff through investigatory procedures where required.
- Ensure you and your team are following H&S guidelines SSOW and SOP’s. Also looking at ways to improve the current processes to maximise efficiency.
- Complete over checks to ensure any miss-picks are captured before leaving site to the customer.
- Control inbound and outbound schedule making sure all loads are tipped/loaded in a timely manner.
- Experience in WMS’s mandatory.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office incl. Excel.
- Support stock accuracy through routine counts.
- Complete reports to keep warehouse manager up to date on daily running of the warehouse inc trailer checks and business KPI’s.
- 100% compliance in completing MHE pre-inspection checks, always prior to operating. Operate all MHE as per trained procedures, taking no risks. Reporting any miss use of MHE to the manager.
- Support the admin team in making sure all picks are fed into the warehouse team and feedback once completed.
- Work additional hours as required to ensure business and team objectives are met.
- Ensure you and your team use the correct PPE on site as per policies, signage, training and procedures.
- Ensure your team are fully in date with training.
- Working to improve site standards through monitoring of cleaning schedules and routine maintenance of MHE and other mechanical equipment with the support of the workshop.
Additional Duties:
- Highlight and escalate areas of improvement or unsafe practice, swapping shifts to support business needs. Mentoring and training new staff.
Additional duties maybe added to the role over time to allow the ideal candidate to gain more experience within the business operations.
Candidate Requirements:
- Possess good communication skills, verbal and written.
- Able to multitask, have ability to prioritise and be effective at problem solving.
- Have a positive can-do attitude.
- Be organised and able to work on own initiative.
Terms of Employment
- The hours of work will be 40 hours per week Monday to Friday between operating hours of 06.00 – 18.00hrs, break of 1 x 40 minutes paid break.
- Overtime and weekend working may be a requirement to meet client requirements and business needs.
- The position will be based at the Merrington Lane Business Park, Spennymoor.
- Hourly rate of pay £12.00/hour, with an additional daily supervisory allowance.
- Annual Holiday Entitlement 20 days plus 8 statutory days.
